The problem insurers face
According to the Association of British Insurers insurance fraud is now costing the insurance industry millions of pounds each year. Every insurer faces the problem of fraudulent claims. The numbers of fraudulent (and bona fide) claims are increasing and this merely increases costs to insurers and ultimately the public at large.

Our dedicated team has a vast range of expertise in all areas of insurance litigation. We have a strong track record of anticipating and reacting to the demands of the ever changing insurance market. For example, the ground breaking work we undertook for insurers in the field “credit hire”, made us a market leader in this area. We are now answering the call of insurers to help fight insurance fraud. We are committed to fighting fraud for insurers and offer a robust approach. We are members of the Insurance Fraud Investigation Group (IFIG).
How Rollingsons can assist the insurer to combat fraud
Insurance fraud can take many forms. Fraud can range from simple exaggeration of a claim to staged accidents at the other end of the scale. Experience has taught us that insurers need effective systems in place to help expose and combat fraudulent claims. We can advise insurers on how to create these systems or to improve their existing systems so as to improve the chances of detecting fraudulent claims. We can also assist insurers in their investigations of fraudulent claims. We have access to databases that will assist highlight serial claimants.
Our successes
We had a spate of fraudulent cases where we liaised with the Fraud Squad in Lancashire who were considering bringing prosecutions against some of the fraudulent parties. On several occasions we have been instructed by insurers to act on a batch of claims dealt with by particular companies,or individuals who insurers believed were perpetrating fraudulent claims.
We have also undertaken a lot of work on behalf of insurers in respect of claims involving low impact collisions. After obtaining relevant experts reports, we have been able to dispose of fraudulent or exaggerated claims on very favourable terms for insurers.
