• Under the Package Travel Regulations 1992, accidents abroad can often lead to the tour operator being responsible in the UK for compensation for pain and suffering in the event of a ruined holiday through personal injury caused by an accident abroad. In order for the regulations to apply, the injured person must have purchased a package holiday which comprises both the cost of the accommodation and the cost of the flight.
